I am a philosopher currently serving as a UC President's Post-doctoral Fellow at UC Irvine and as a collaborator in the Emotion and Society Lab at UC Riverside.
In 2021, I completed my PhD at UNC Chapel Hill, writing a dissertation under the direction of Susan Wolf. While at UNC, I was an E. Maynard Adams Fellow for the Public Humanities. I continue to try to find ways to bring philosophical questions, methods, and discussions to public audiences. I was born in Santa Maria, CA and was raised both there and in the greater Portland, OR metropolitan area. My family is largely of Mexican-American and Filipino descent. I'm a first-generation college student, and was a McNair Scholar while in undergrad. When I'm not being a philosopher, I fill my time playing ice hockey, reading trans/queer fiction, and playing with my dog, Canela Dulce. I use they/them/theirs pronouns. In another life, I played bass in a ska band. |
